KCC in the news: July 27, 2012

  • The Presque Isle County Advance posted an article about Sam Freel, who the publication says is a 2012 graduate of Onaway High School who signed a letter of intent to play softball next year at Kellogg Community College. The Advance says Freel, who was team captain her last two years of high school, when she also was named most outstanding outfielder, “was a four-year varsity softball player for the Cardinals and won three district titles. She was a member of the regional champion and eventual state runner-up team in 2010. She earned all-state honorable mention honors as a junior and was on the second team all state as a senior as well as an all-conference and all-district selection as a senior.”
  • MLive.com’s Jackson News section posted an article about incumbent Jackson County Commissioner Jonathan Williams being challenged by John Wilson in the Aug. 7 primary for the District 8 seat. The article says Williams, who teaches political science at Kellogg Community College, was first elected in 2008.
