KCC volleyball defeats LCC, plays first home game at 6:30 p.m.

Kellogg Community College’s women’s volleyball team plays their first home game of the season tonight, starting at 6:30 p.m. against Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

The team is fresh off a win last Thursday over Lansing Community College, when they won in five with scores of 25-23, 25-27, 26-28, 25-23 and 15-1.

Freshman Tara VanDenberg, of Battle Creek, had 42 digs, while freshman Geralyn Folz, of Howell, had 15 kills and 9 digs. Sophomore Megan Allen, of Colon, had 32 assists.

“Teamwork and hard work,” said head coach Amy Julien, “put together with determination helped us beat LCC.”
