Phi Theta Kappa induction ceremony begins at 6 p.m. tonight

Kellogg Community College will induct 46 new members into its local Alpha Nu Eta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society during an induction ceremony beginning at 6 p.m. tonight in the College’s Binda Theatre (pictured above).

TaNisha Parker, manager of Student Life at KCC and the PTK advisor at the College, said the 46 inductees participating will take their place among the more than 300 members that are a part of the Alpha Nu Eta chapter.

A total of 76 new members joined the organization this semester, but not all are participating in the induction ceremony.

The event is free and open to the public. However, inductees, faculty and staff had to RSVP for the event in advance, so remaining seats will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Phi Theta Kappa is an international honor society in which membership is by invitation only. Members must have completed 12 or more semester hours with a 3.5 or better GPA. New KCC students may be invited to provisional membership based on their high school academic achievement and leadership activities.
