Athletics Department collects spare change for Toys for Tots

Members of the baseball team drop off toys donated to the Toys for Tots program at Independent Bank on Dec. 6.

Kellogg Community College’s Athletics Department collected $44.50 in spare change during the months of October and November and used the money to buy toys they then donated to Toys for Tots.

Sharon Powell, coordinator of the Miller Building, which houses the Athletics Department on KCC’s North Avenue campus, said this is the third year the department has collected spare change for holiday Toys for Tots donations.

“We are happy to do our part in making Christmas a little brighter for those in need,” Powell said. “We plan on starting our spare change collection earlier next year so we are able to buy more toys!”
