Katherine Romeo of Hartford has signed a letter of intent to play women’s soccer at Kellogg Community College and will begin playing for the team during the fall 2013 season.

Romeo has been playing soccer since she was 10 years old and has played club soccer on both men’s and women’s teams. She earned Academic All-State and All-Conference honors in cross country and track at Hartford High School while also maintaining a 3.95 GPA.

Barth Beasley, head coach of the women’s soccer team at KCC, said Romeo comes to the program with a winning attitude for achievement on and off the field.

“In getting to know her during the recruiting process, I got to see her enthusiasm and drive to make a difference in her community with strong family values and work ethic,” Beasley said. “She mirrors the goals in player development on and off the field that we want for all of our student athletes in the KCC Bruin Nation.”
