The Kellogg Community College women’s basketball team broke a three-game losing streak by defeating Grand Rapids Community College 61-58 Wednesday evening in Grand Rapids.

The win for the Bruins brings their Michigan Community College Athletic Association Western Conference record to 4-7 and their overall record to 8-12 for the season so far.

Sophomore forward Janeesa Jamierson (Battle Creek Central) led the Bruins with 13 points, four assists and four steals, while freshman guard Jackie Harwood (Sault Area) scored 10 and added four assists.

Also contributing for the Bruins were freshman guard Cherese Vasser (Southeastern), who scored eight and pulled down eight rebounds; sophomore forward Malika Flenorl (Lakeview), who pulled down nine rebounds; and freshman forward Britni Upston (Tekonsha), who pulled down seven rebounds and grabbed three steals.
