Women’s volleyball drops close home match to Jackson

The Kellogg Community College women’s volleyball team lost their second tight match in as many home appearances against conference opponent Jackson College Tuesday, falling in five sets 25-21, 13-25, 25-22, 19-25 and 12-15, respectively.

Freshman Tristen Ehredt, of Battle Creek, had 21 kills, one ace and one block assist; sophomore Cortney Pipher, of Battle Creek, had six kills, 34 assists, one ace, two solo blocks and two block assists; freshman Rebecca Browning, of Rockwood, had six kills and one block assist; and sophomore Tara VanDenberg, of Battle Creek, had 26 digs.

The loss brings the Bruins’ MCCAA Western Conference record to 1-4; their overall record for the season so far is 3-12. The team plays next at 6:30 p.m. tonight against conference opponent Ancilla College in Donaldson, Ind.
