KCC offering nonprofit training courses in November, December

Kellogg Community College’s Workforce Solutions Department is offering the following courses for nonprofit training in November and December.

NOVEMBER

Microsoft Word for Nonprofits
Make you nonprofit’s documents look more professional in less time! In this hands-on class you will learn to use the ribbon, create templates, format documents, set up style sheets, insert graphics and use tables.
Time: 9 a.m.-noon Thursday, Nov. 7
Cost: $19
Location: KCC’s RMTC

Volunteer Supervision, Evaluation and Recognition
Build your skills through a review of risk management, reporting relationships, evaluation, placement assessment, record keeping and termination. Learn how to recognize volunteers in ways that are meaningful to them as individuals and gain insight into the importance of having board and staff involved in the support of your volunteer programs.
Time: 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13
Cost: $10
Location: KCC’s RMTC

Facebook Insights
This course will provide an overview of the measurements included in Facebook Insights and how you can use those measurements to improve your social media practices to better target and engage your audience. Learn what each measurement means, why it’s important, and how you can use it to your organization’s benefit in the future.
Time: Noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13
Cost: $19
Location: KCC’s RMTC

Basic Boards
Learn the basic roles and responsibilities of nonprofit boards of directors. Legal aspects of board service as well as tips and best practices of highly effective boards will be discussed. Participants will also have the opportunity to share their personal experiences to enhance group learning.
Time: 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20
Cost: $10
Location: KCC’s RMTC

DECEMBER

Excel for Nonprofits
Make your nonprofit’s documents look more professional and save time! Learn to use formulas, functions (logical, text, date and time, lookup and reference, statistical), charts and graphing in this hands-on class. Students will have a chance to bring real-life questions to the class.
Time: 1-4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12
Cost: $19
Location: KCC’s RMTC

All fees are due at registration. Individuals may register online at www.nonprofitalliance.org/events, by phone using a major credit card at 269-565-2828 or by fax by sending a completed registration form to 269-962-7370.

To register by mail, a complete registration form including a check, money order or credit card information must be sent to Kellogg Community College, RMTC – Workforce Solutions, 405 Hill Brady Road, Battle Creek, MI 49037. Checks should be made payable to Kellogg Community College and sent ATTN: Nonprofit Training, WFS.
