Fall baseball, softball games start this month

Bruins fans who don’t want to wait till the spring semester to catch the Kellogg Community College baseball and softball teams in action have the opportunity to watch the teams play several games this fall, including home games at Bailey Park in Battle Creek.

The games function as scrimmages only and do not go toward official season standings in Michigan Community College Athletic Association or National Junior College Athletic Association play.

Baseball

The KCC baseball team has 10 games scheduled for the fall semester, including five at home in Battle Creek. Home games are scheduled for the following dates:

  • 10 a.m. Sept. 6 against the Kalamazoo Maroons
  • TBA Sept. 13 against TBA
  • Noon Sept. 26 against Glen Oaks Community College
  • 4 p.m. Sept. 26 against Jackson College
  • Noon Sept. 27 against the Summit City Sluggers

Softball

The KCC softball team began their fall ball play with a contest against Lansing Community College on Sept. 24. The team has 10 games remaining for the fall semester, just one of which is at home in Battle Creek. The home game is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 24 against Olivet College.
