Coffeehouse Concert Series continues with Comedy Jam Oct. 14

Students hang out in the newly renovated Student Center during the first day of Fall 2013 classes.

Kellogg Community College’s Coffeehouse Concert Series continues this month with a Comedy Jam on Oct. 14.

The event – which is free and open to the public – will run from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Student Center (pictured above) on KCC’s campus at 450 North Ave., Battle Creek. It will include standup comedy from a handful of performers including KCC alumnus Kypree Taylor.

The Coffeehouse Concert Series is sponsored by Student Life and includes performances each month on campus open to students and community members alike. A rap performance was hosted in September; the indie-rock band She Bears will perform on Nov. 12.

Visitors at each event are encouraged to stop in at the Student Center’s Bruin Bistro and grab a bite to eat while enjoying the performance. The Bistro sells a wide variety of made to order, ready-made and prepackaged food and beverage items each weekday.
