Kellogg Community College today launched a new mobile application to help students access College information and tools, including registration, from mobile devices including smartphones and tablets.

The Ellucian GO app, which is available on both Android and iOS operating systems, may be downloaded for free from all major app stores. Once downloaded and opened, users can select “Kellogg Community College” from the menu of available institutions and can sign in using their K-ID and password.

The app includes detailed maps of each KCC campus location, contact information for KCC offices and staff – including instructors – and the ability for students to view schedules, course histories, grades and more on their mobile devices. It also allows students to register and pay for their classes directly through the app.

Bob Reynolds, KCC’s chief information officer, said the Ellucian GO app will give students a convenient option for accessing important student and College information whenever they need it, wherever they are.

“Technology advances rapidly, and the College needs to keep pace with the needs of our increasingly tech savvy students,” Reynolds said. “This mobile app will allow KCC students to have easy access to important items such as contact information for faculty and staff, online classes, grades, social media and most importantly, online registration,”

Mobile payment for classes may be completed with the same methods of payment as registration on campus, which includes major credit card providers including American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa. The app also includes information about signing up for the College’s FACTS payment plan, which is required for all students not paying for their classes in full at time of registration.

In addition to the items listed above, the Ellucian GO app also includes integration with KCC’s main social media platforms – including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and The KCC Daily blog – and the Moodle system, which allows students to access assignments and other course materials.

The mobile app is the latest in a steady stream of technological upgrades at KCC designed to enhance student experience at KCC. The College’s website – www.kellogg.edu – launched last spring after a yearlong redesign process, while the Bruin Portal, through which students access personal information online, was updated earlier this month.
