Library registers most organ donors during statewide campaign

Kellogg Community College’s Morris Learning Resource Center registered more than 20 percent of the total donors added to the Michigan Organ Donor Registry during the statewide Michigan Libraries for Life campaign held in October to encourage library patrons to join the registry.

KCC library staff assisted 110 individuals in signing up to become organ and tissue donors on Oct. 7 and 8 at the LRC. According to final statistics for the Michigan Libraries for Life campaign, which ran statewide Oct. 6 through 12, a total of 532 individuals were registered to become organ and tissue donors at 70 organizations throughout the state.

No other site registered more donors during the campaign than KCC’s LRC.

Final numbers and a breakdown of statistics for each participating organization can be found on the Michigan Libraries for Life website.
