Sign up for Nov. 20 Bruins Give Back, the last of the semester

Bruins Give Back participants pose for a group photo while working in a garden in October.

Kellogg Community College’s third and final Bruins Give Back volunteer event of the Fall 2015 semester will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Nov. 20, at two area locations:

  • Dudley STEM School, where volunteers will help facilitate a science fair and possibly share some of their own science experiement stories.
  • Habitat for Humanity, where volunteers could help with a variety of tasks including loading/unloading, cleaning and/or pricing items for sale at the ReStore or cleaning up the grounds outside.

All KCC students and employees are invited to serve at this and future Bruins Give Back events, and can sign up online via the form at http://goo.gl/forms/hICmQH0Xee.

Bruins Give Back is a collaborative, campus-wide service program involving the College’s Service-Learning area, Student Life office and HandsOn Battle Creek. Each date – the event is held from 9 a.m. to noon on Fridays up to three times per semester – sees KCC students and employees volunteering together at locations in and around Battle Creek.

Past events have been located at elementary schools, community gardens, Habitat for Humanity and at various locations on campus at KCC, to name a few.

Nearly 160 KCC students and employees together volunteered for more than 400 hours through Bruins Give Back events during the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semesters.
