KCC Foundation appoints Vivian Davis to Board of Directors

KCC Foundation Board member Vivian DavisThe Kellogg Community College Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Vivian L. Davis (pictured) to its board of directors.

Davis, an adjunct instructor and an academic advisor at KCC and vice president of the Albion Public Schools Board of Trustees, is a retired Albion Public Schools educator, having served the district from 1974 to 2011. Her past community service and leadership roles include serving as a delegate of the Michigan and National Education Association Representative Assembly groups; as president of the Calhoun Area and Michigan Counseling Association chapters; as a charter member of the Lions Club of Albion; and as a member of the Albion Philanthropic Women and many other community organizations.

Davis is a graduate of Georgia’s Fort Valley State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Art degree in Sociology. She also earned a Master’s of Arts, Education and Counseling Psychology degree from Western Michigan University and a Master’s of Science and Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University.

“Vivian is a highly competent and accomplished professional who brings passion and enthusiasm for education to the Foundation board,” KCCF Board Chair Kathy-Sue Dunn said. “We look forward to having her leadership experience and guidance in service of the Foundation”.

In addition to Dunn, Davis joins current board members Michael Beckwith, Jill Booth, Steven Claywell, Matt Davis, John Dilworth, Eric Greene, Mark Kolanowski, Jon Melges, interim KCC President Mark O’Connell, Dr. John J.H. Schwarz, Andrew Schweitzer, Richard Scott, Erick Stewart and Catherine Yates.

The KCC Foundation was founded in 1998 by the College to seek private funding to assist students with various needs. A nongovernmental, nonprofit 501(c)(3) with its own funds, the KCC Foundation is managed by a volunteer board of directors.
