Nearly 50 works of art and design created by more than a dozen alumni from Kellogg Community College’s Graphic Design Program will be featured in the College’s “Graphic Design Now” alumni exhibit through Feb. 19.

The exhibit, which opened on Jan. 18, is free and open to the public for viewing from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays in the Eleanor R. and Robert A. DeVries Gallery in KCC’s newly renovated Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Center, on campus at 450 North Ave., Battle Creek..

An opening reception for the exhibit, also free and open to the public, will be held at the gallery from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21.

Penny Rose, Graphic Design professor and coordinator of the Graphic Design Program at KCC, said works exhibited range from student projects designed by recent KCC grads currently studying at universities to professional work done by former Bruins now working in industries around the country – including at KCC. Exhibit entries hail from Bruin alumni as far away as Louisiana, with students represented from classes in the 1990s through 2015.

“This is a professional show, and it’s an impressive statement on what our Graphic Design students are able to accomplish after their studies here at KCC,” Rose said. “They’re out there doing us proud.”

Featured works span mediums including fine art painting and drawing, digital illustration, multimedia and animation, poster art and more. Designers whose work is featured include Nick Arnold, Patrick Cook, Brandi Engel, Samantha (Noakes) Hunter, John McNees, Kurtis Ploehn, Christopher Rabineau, Haley Schweigart, Malia Scott, Brandon Smith, Ray Swaney, Laura Tooze and Xander Wedel.
