KCC to host full-day fundraising workshop Sept. 28 in Battle Creek

Kellogg Community College’s Nonprofit Education and Training Institute (NETI) in partnership with the Nonprofit Network of Jackson is hosting a full-day training workshop for organizational fundraisers this month in Battle Creek.

The workshop, titled, “Mission Driven Fundraising: Lead & Advance Your Fund Development Program,” will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Headquarters, 1 Michigan Ave. East, Battle Creek.

This fast-paced training will provide a comprehensive and holistic view of fundraising to help participants build stronger fundraising programs for their organizations. Training will be interactive and will include strategies for mobilizing staff, board members and volunteers while utilizing data, discussion, peer interaction and coaching to address:

  • Donor acquisition, retention and upgrade strategies
  • Fund development plans for multigenerational audiences
  • The must-haves for any fundraising program
  • Tips for the effective use of social media and technology
  • Training and engaging board members
  • Grants and major gifts
  • Special event management

All participants should come prepared to share, learn and plan. The training curriculum will include assessment tools, discovery sessions and best practices related to fundraising that are appropriate and relevant for everyone from development staff and volunteers to board members and executive directors.

Registration

The cost for the fundraising workshop – which includes a catered lunch – is $80 for the general public and $60 for Nonprofit Network of Jackson members; the training is free for funded partners of the United Way of Jackson.
