Kellogg Community College’s Athletics Department donated more than $100 worth of toys to Toys for Tots this month, purchased using spare-change donations collected from students and staff in the Athletics offices on campus.

Sharon Powell, coordinator of the Miller Physical Education Building, where KCC’s student-athletes play their home games, said the department collected $103.80 in spare change during the collection campaign in October and November.

The donated money was used to purchase toys which, along with a handful of toys donated by employees, were picked up earlier this month by volunteers from Two Men and a Truck for delivery to a Toys for Tots distribution center. The toys will be distributed by members of the U.S. Marine Corps as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the Battle Creek area.
