Free showing of climate change film “Before the Flood” to be held May 16 in the Binda Theatre

Kellogg Community College student group Students for a Sustainable Earth will host a screening of the climate change documentary “Before the Flood” this week on campus in Battle Creek.

The documentary will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, in the theatre of the Binda Performing Arts Center, on campus at 450 North Ave., Battle Creek. The screening is free and open to the public; doors will open at 6 p.m.

Directed by Academy Award winner Fisher Stevens, this National Geographic film follows actor and producer Leonardo DiCaprio as he visits countries around the world to explore the effects of global warming. The film also includes interviews with an impressive group of scientists and world leaders.

Students for a Sustainable Earth say they hope they showing will inspire others to get involved in working to protect the planet.
