First Bruins Give Back volunteer event of the Fall 2017 semester is Sept. 29

The first Bruins Give Back volunteer service event of Kellogg Community College’s Fall 2017 semester will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 29, at three locations in Battle Creek.

A campus-wide service initiative of the College’s Service-Learning office, Bruins Gives Back brings KCC students and employees together in service through volunteering at locations in and around Battle Creek.

Bruins Give Back is held from 9 a.m. to noon on Fridays up to three times per semester, and past events have been located at elementary schools, community gardens and at various locations on campus at KCC, to name a few. Service locations for the Sept. 29 event include:

  • The Charitable Union, where volunteers will sort and organize clothing or complete other tasks needed that day
  • KCC’s Community Garden, where volunteers will get the garden ready for the fall by cleaning and planting fall and winter plants
  • Kingman Museum, where volunteers will help complete various projects around the museum

All KCC students and employees are invited to serve at this and future Bruins Give Back events, and can sign up online via the form available at https://goo.gl/forms/3Pmp7MyMbSBv9BaX2.

Future Fall 2017 Bruins Give Back dates include:

  • Friday, Oct. 27
  • Friday, Dec. 1
