KCC women’s basketball falls 97-54 to Ancilla College

KCC's 2017-18 women's basketball team.

Kellogg Community College’s women’s basketball team lost its latest away game 97-54 Saturday against Ancilla College.

Leading the Bruins on the court were Destiny Kincaide (Chicago, IL/Hyde Park Academy), who had 19 points; Dareka Clayton (Battle Creek/Battle Creek Central), who had 17 points and 15 rebounds; and Kimi Rook (Mattawan/Mattawan High School), who had 8 points.

Head Women’s Basketball Coach Dic Doumanian said the Bruins were trailing by 15 points at half-time, but cut the lead to 9 points midway through the third quarter.

“We had some chances to get closer, but then things fell apart for us versus one of the best teams in the Western Conference,” Doumanian said.

The Bruins’ next home game starts at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, against conference opponent Muskegon Community College at the Battle Creek Central Fieldhouse, 162 Champion St., Battle Creek.
