KCC men’s basketball falls 96-82 to Lake Michigan College

KCC's 2017 men's basketball team

Kellogg Community College’s men’s basketball team lost its latest home game 96-82 Saturday against conference opponent Lake Michigan College.

Leading the Bruins on the court were Khylen Watkins (Battle Creek/Harper Creek), who had 27 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists, and Daleon Graham (Battle Creek/Lakeview), who had 16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks.

Head Men’s Basketball Coach Ben Reed expressed that although the team came up short, he was proud of the guys for fighting and sticking together through the end of the game.

“First ten minutes of the second half we played very flat and during this time we made unforced mistakes which cost us down the stretch,” Reed said. “Even with the loss I think the guys understand we are a better team and will continue to push to get more wins.”

The Bruins’ next home game starts at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, against conference opponent Ancilla College at the Battle Creek Central Fieldhouse, 162 Champion St., Battle Creek.
