KCC women’s basketball falls 73-62 to Grand Rapids Community College

The Kellogg Community College women’s basketball team lost its last home game of the season 73-62 against conference opponent Grand Rapids Community College on Monday.

Leading the Bruins on the court were sophomore Destiny Kincaide, who had 20 points; freshman Jessalynn Genier, who had 8 points and 13 rebounds; sophomore Kameron Haley, who had 8 points and 7 rebounds; and freshman Brianna Abercrombie, who had 8 points.

“We lost a tough one at home,” Head Women’s Basketball Coach Dic Doumanian said. “Our season now boils down to our regular season finale Wednesday at Lansing. Win and we are in the post-season tournament, lose and our season is over.”

The recent loss brings the Bruins’ overall score for the season so far to 7-20; the team’s conference record to 4-13.

The Bruins’ last conference game starts at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, against Lansing Community College in Lansing.
