KCC instructor Dr. Kathryne Salo to perform flute concert Oct. 20

Dr. Kathryne Salo holds a flute in a promotional slide for her upcoming recital at KCC.

Kellogg Community College instructor and flutist Dr. Kathryne Salo will perform a faculty recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, in the Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Center on the campus at 450 North Ave., Battle Creek.

The cost is $5 for the general public; admission is free for KCC students.

KCC Music Program faculty member Paula Krontz-Harris will accompany Salo on piano. The pieces will include works of music from eight composers, including Tchaikovsky.

Salo teaches Applied Flute and Fundamentals of Music for Teachers at KCC. She also performs as Principal Flute of the St. Joseph-based Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra and is a piccoloist for the Lansing Symphony Orchestra. Salo also teaches at the Ada Conservatory of Music.
