Kellogg Community College women’s soccer season opens this month

The Kellogg Community College women’s soccer season opens this month and includes more than half a dozen home matches on the College’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek.

This year’s roster of 13 includes six returning players and seven new faces under the leadership of second-year Head Women’s Soccer Coach Levi Butcher. Five on the roster are local, including players from Harper Creek, Marshall and Pennfield high schools.

This year’s full roster includes:

  • Freshman goalkeeper/forward Marissa Aiello (Portage/Portage Central High School)
  • Returning sophomore forward Allison Biergeder (Battle Creek/Pennfield High School)
  • Freshman forward Sara Bruns (Kalamazoo/Portage Northern High School)
  • Returning sophomore midfielder Bryn Cairns (Waterford/Waterford Kettering High School)
  • Returning sophomore midfielder Natalia Egnatuk (Marshall/Marshall High School)
  • Returning sophomore midfielder Lillian Fulcher (Paw Paw/Paw Paw High School)
  • Freshman midfielder/forward Mackenzie Jordan (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School)
  • Returning sophomore midfielder Chloe Leugers (Marshall/Marshall High School)
  • Freshman midfielder/forward Rayna Richardson (Austin, Texas/Gateway College Preparatory School)
  • Returning sophomore goalkeeper Maya Ruelas (Kalamazoo/Home School)
  • Freshman midfielder Lydia Schamanek (Cadillac/Cadillac High School)
  • Freshman goalkeeper/forward Maya Walters (Battle Creek/Pennfield High School)
  • Freshman midfielder/defender Katie Williams (Big Rapids/Big Rapids High School)

Butcher will be joined on the field this year by assistant coaches Hunter Garland and Maggie Harma.

The Bruins open the season with a home match starting at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, against Delta College on campus in Battle Creek. Admission to the game is free.
