New Vee Kalnins sculpture installed in pool at KCC

Kellogg Community College students returning to campus on April 9 will notice a change in the pool outside the library on the college’s Battle Creek campus. In addition to being cleaner, the pool now contains a brand new sculpture by Tekonsha artist Vee Kalnins.

Kellogg Community College art instructor and Art on Campus Initiative member Peter Williams was on hand this morning while Kalnins and two associates installed the sculpture in the presently waterless pool, and he said the former fish sculpture had needed replacing for quite some time.

Above is a teaser photo taken during the sculpture’s installation this morning. If you want to see the finished product — minus the water, which should be added soon — head out to campus and take a look, or stay tuned to this blog and our Facebook page for more photos.
