Here are some highlights from the Kellogg Community College softball team’s latest games.
Vs. Ancilla College, April 14, 2012 (away)
In game one (1-4), batting leaders included freshman pitcher Tara Harding, who hit two for three at bat; freshman infielder Tiffani Allwardt, who hit one for three including an RBI; and sophomore catcher/infielder Emily Butts and sophomore outfielder Elizabeth Damron, who both hit one for three. Sophomore pitcher Kristin Van Oosten led from the mound with three strikeouts in six innings.
In game two (2-3), Van Oosten, sophomore catcher Paige Richmond and freshman infielder Michaela Marble all hit one for two, with Van Oosten and Marble racking up doubles and Marble racking up an RBI. Damron and Sophomore outfielder Ashley Nearpass hit one for three, with Nearpass hitting a double.
Vs. Davenport University JV, April 16, 2012 (home)
In game one (4-10), batting leaders included Richmond and freshman infielder Taylor Howes, who each hit one for three with a home run and an RBI apiece. Richmond, Butts and Harding also hit one for three, with Harding racking up two RBI and a double. Freshman outfielder MacKenzie Kendall was one for one at bat.
In game two (8-12), Richmond and freshman outfielder Sarah Hendrickson hit a home run apiece, with Richmond batting two for two including an RBI and Hendrickson batting one for three with two RBI. Van Oosten had two RBI and a double batting one for three, while Howes and Damron had an RBI apiece batting one for one and one for two, respectively, with Howes hitting a triple.
Vs. Lake Michigan College, April 17, 2012 (away)
In game one (1-6), batting leaders included Richmond and Van Oosten, who batted one for three with an RBI and one for three with a double, respectively. Damron and freshman pitcher Ashley Burrit each hit one for two.
In game two (0-2), Van Oosten and Nearpass each hit two for four, with Van Oosten racking up a double. Richmond and Butts both hit one for three. Sophomore pitcher Mercedies Angus led from the mound with three strikeouts in six innings.
