Fall auditions for Kellogg Community College’s Opera Workshop ensemble will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, in room D215 of the Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Center on the college’s North Avenue campus, 450 North Ave.
Auditions are open to any Kellogg Community College student or Battle Creek community member, and audition times must be reserved in advance. Individuals who are accepted and given principal roles in the ensemble must register for MUSI 297-01.
There are five open roles available for women and five open roles available for men. Volunteer chorus positions also will be available.
Those who are scheduled to audition should prepare a solo selection in English as well as a short monologue or short poetic work. An accompanist will be provided, though it is encouraged for those auditioning to bring their own.
Fall rehearsals will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays in room D215 of the Davidson Center. The rehearsals will culminate with a performance of “Opera Meets Broadway Part 2: Get Your Diva On!” scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the Binda Theatre on Kellogg Community College’s North Avenue campus.
