Kellogg Community College’s women’s soccer and volleyball teams each broke even in their respective contests this past weekend, with the soccer team tying Muskegon Community College 2-2 in the Bruins’ first official game on Saturday and the volleyball team winning two of four games in a tournament in Vincennes, Ind., on Friday and Saturday.
Volleyball details have yet to come in, but both goals for the women’s soccer team were scored by sophomore forward Elizabeth Miller, of Harper Creek. A note from Kellogg Community College’s head soccer coach Barth Beasley notes that Miller’s tying goal was scored in the last 10 minutes (pictured above is the shot that tied the game).
The soccer team plays next at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, against Jackson Community College in Jackson. The volleyball team plays next at the Owens Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 31 and Sept 1., in Toledo, Ohio.
