KCC soccer wins first game, plays Grace Bible at home at 5 p.m.

Kellogg Community College’s women’s soccer team racked up the first-ever victory in the history of the program on Saturday, defeating Cincinnati State Technical and Community College 2-0.

Freshman Morganne Hubbell, of Hastings, scored both goals for the Bruins, scoring one in each half.

On defense, freshman Savanna Lacey, of Flint, had seven saves in 90 minutes.

Barth Beasley, head coach of the women’s soccer team, said the team played an outstanding game.

The team plays their next game today starting at 5 p.m. at home on Kellogg Community College’s North Avenue campus against Grace Bible College. It’s just the second home game of the season; the first ended in a 2-2 tie with Muskegon Community College late last month.
