KCC women’s volleyball defeats Ancilla College in four sets

The Kellogg Community College women’s volleyball team racked up another victory at home last Thursday, Sept. 20, defeating Ancilla College in four sets with scores of 23-25, 25-19,25-20 and 25-14. Here are some stats from the Bruins’ win.

Sophomore Kylie Marquardt (Eisenhower) had 12 kills, nine digs and one block assist; freshman Janelle Hayes (Battle Creek Central) had 11 kills and three block assists; freshman Cortney Pipher (Lakeview) had seven kills, two assisted blocks and one solo block; sophomore Darcie Melching (Cheboygan) had six kills, two assisted blocks and three solo blocks; freshman Tara VanDenberg (Pennfield) had 26 digs and one ace; and sophomore Megan Allen had four kills, 37 assists, one ace, one solo block and four assisted blocks.

The fourth-ranked Kellogg Community College women’s volleyball team plays next beginning at 5 p.m. this evening in a conference match against second-ranked Muskegon Community College in Muskegon.
