Men’s basketball opens season with win over Delta College

The Kellogg Community College men’s basketball team opened their season with a victory at home on Saturday, besting Delta College 76-68 at the Miller Gym.

Hometown forward Nathan Taylor, a freshman from Battle Creek Central, led the Bruins on both offense and defense, with a team-high 23 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore forward Darius Holman (Rich East) scored 17 and grabbed five rebounds.

Sophomore guard Quincy Armstrong, Jr. (Harper Creek), scored 15 and had seven assists.

The Bruins play next beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, against Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn.

That game kicks of a series of away games that will last throughout the rest of 2012; the team’s next home game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7. Click here for a complete 2012-13 men’s basketball schedule.
