KCC’s women’s basketball team defeats Glen Oaks in overtime

The Kellogg Community College women’s basketball team defeated the ladies of Glen Oaks Community College in a 58-51 overtime victory in Centreville last night, bringing their conference record to 1-3 and their overall record to 5-8 for the season so far.

Three Bruins scored in double digits last night, including sophomore forward Janeesa Jamierson (Battle Creek Central), who scored 17; freshman guard Andrea Polley (Delton Kellogg), who scored 14 with three assists; and freshman guard Jackie Harwood (Sault-Area), who scored 10.

Freshman forward Britni Upston (Tekonsha) scored nine and had eight rebounds and three blocks; sophomore forward Malika Flenorl (Lakeview) had seven rebounds; and freshman point guard Teonna Pope (Southeastern) had four steals and three assists.

The women’s basketball team plays next beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, against Muskegon Community College at home in the Miller Gym on KCC’s North Avenue campus.
