The Kellogg Community College men’s basketball team defeated Michigan Community College Athletic Association Western Conference opponent Ancilla College Wednesday, winning 75-72 after trailing for most of the game.
The win gives the Bruins an even 3-3 conference record and an overall record of 6-12 for the season so far.
Five Bruins scored in the double digits, with freshman forward Damien Hegler (Loy Norrix) leading from the floor with 17 points and three steals. Sophomore forward Darius Holman (Rich East) scored 16 with three steals and three assists, sophomore guard Marlon Allen (North Farmington) scored 14 with three assists, and sophomore guard Christian Covile (John Glenn) and freshman forward Nathan Taylor (Battle Creek Central) each scored 12.
Covile also pulled down six rebounds, while freshman forward Devin Hegler (Loy Norrix) pulled down seven. Sophomore center Henry Williams (Albion) had two blocks.
The men’s team plays next beginning at 3 p.m. tomorrow against Jackson Community College at home at the Miller Gym on KCC’s North Avenue campus. Admission to the game is free.
