The Kellogg Community College women’s basketball team clinched a spot in the upcoming Michigan Community College Athletic Association Western Conference District G championship tournament with a win over Glen Oaks Community College a week ago. Here are some stats from the team’s last two games.
Vs. GLEN OAKS COMMUNITY COLLEGE on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at home (WON 56-49)
Sophomore forward Janeesa Jamierson (Battle Creek Central) racked up a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman point guard Teonna Pope (Southeastern) scored seven with six assists and five steals. Freshman guard Lauren Mengel (Marshall) scored six.

Vs. MUSKEGON COMMUNITY COLLEGE on Saturday, Feb. 16, in Muskegon (LOST 52-53)
Three Bruins scored in double digits, including freshman guard Jackie Harwood (Sault Area), who scored 12 with eight rebounds and seven steals; Jamierson, who scored 11; and freshman forward Britni Upston (Tekonsha), who scored 10.
Pope scored seven with five assists, while sophomore forward Malika Flenorl (Lakeview) pulled down 10 rebounds.
THE RECORD SO FAR
The games give the Bruins a 5-8 record in the MCCAA and a 9-14 record overall for the season so far, with just three games left before tournament play. The team plays next beginning at 5:30 p.m. tonight against Ancilla College at home in the Miller Gym on KCC’s North Avenue campus.
