Summer courses let students learn at their own pace at EAC

ALBION – Kellogg Community College is offering a variety of courses at the Eastern Academic Center during the 2013 summer semester, which began last week.

While some classes began May 20, others don’t start until later in the summer for the convenience of students, whether they are working professionals, retirees or university enrollees completing extra course work.

New at the EAC are basic English and writing courses designed to prepare students, without using a traditional lecture format, for more advanced courses in the fall.

“Students can complete general education prerequisites and learn at their own pace with an instructor in a computer lab setting,” said Colin McCaleb, director of the EAC. “They can take one credit or three credits at a time, depending on what works best with their schedules.”
