Tobacco dependence treatment program scheduled for June 17

A tobacco dependence treatment program will be held for health care providers June 17 at KCC.

Kellogg Community College and the Southwest Chapter of the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners will present Tobacco Dependence Treatment for Providers, a free educational program for advanced practice, registered nurses and licensed practical nurses, on Monday, June 17.

The presentation will run from 6 to 8 p.m. in room 100 of the Student Center on KCC’s campus at 450 North Ave. in Battle Creek.

Speaking at the event will be Carol Essenmacher, MSN, CNS, C-TTS, DNP(c), a certified tobacco specialist, tobacco cessation coordinator for the Battle Creek VA Medical Center and an active member of the Southwest Chapter of the MICNP.

Continuing education hours are available for all attendees, and light refreshments will be served. The event is sponsored by KCC, the MICNP, Davenport University and Nicotine Intervention Consulting & Training.
