PTK honor society holding T-shirt contest for members

Kellogg Community College’s local Alpha Nu Eta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is holding a T-shirt contest for its members to design this year’s PTK T-shirts.

The shirts will be worn by PTK members and as a major source of fundraising for the KCC chapter will be sold at PTK and college events.

Designs must be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, either dropped off to Madeline Schnorr, Holly VanDam or TaNisha Parker in the Student Life office on KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek or as an image emailed to alphanueta@kellogg.edu.

Submissions must:

1. Be limited to no more than two colors, plus the color of the T-shirt
2. Include the words “Phi Theta Kappa” or the acronym “PTK” in English or Greek letters

The winner of the T-shirt contest will be determined by member vote and will receive a free T-shirt with the winning design on it. Voting will open on Wednesday, Sept. 11, during Bruin Blast, the college’s annual welcome back event for students.

Induction into the PTK honor society is by invitation only and is limited to students who have completed 12 or more credit hours with a 3.5 or better GPA. More than 100 students were formally inducted into the honor society in a ceremony held in March at KCC’s Binda Theatre.
