Kellogg Community College’s The Learning Place has a new name and a temporary new location while the former space is undergoing renovations.
The space, which offers tutoring and other services for students, has relocated to room 205 of the Ohm Information Technology Center on KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek from its regular space in Ohm 206 and 207. The Learning Place will reopen in Ohm 206 and 207 Monday, Aug. 12, as The Bridge and will also be home to KCC’s open-entry math, writing and English students.
Summer hours for The Learning Place/The Bridge are as follows:
Drop-in hours for paraprofessional assistance with English, study skills and math:
- 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays
- 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays
- 8 a.m. to noon Fridays
Daily schedule:
MONDAY
- English/study skills: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Math: 1 to 5 p.m.
TUESDAY
- English/study skills: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Math: 8 to 9 a.m. and noon to 4 p.m.
WEDNESDAY
- English/study skills: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Math: 8 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 4 p.m.
THURSDAY
- English/study skills: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Math: 8 to 9 a.m. and noon to 4 p.m.
FRIDAY
- English/study skills: 8 a.m. to noon
- Math: 8 a.m. to noon every other Friday
KCC’s Testing & Assessment Center, which previously shared space with The Learning Place, is now located in Ohm 108. Summer hours for the Testing & Assessment Center are as follows:
Make-up/online testing hours:
- 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays
- 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursdays
- 9 to 10:30 a.m. Fridays
COMPASS testing hours:
- 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays
- 4 to 6 p.m. Thursdays
