The Kellogg Community College women’s soccer team opened their 2013 season in fine form Saturday with a 3-2 win over Grace Bible College.
Goals for KCC were scored by freshman midfielder Katherine Romeo, of Hartford; sophomore forward Taylor Underhill, of Paw Paw; and freshman forward Elizabeth Jarrard, of Battle Creek.
Freshman defender Ashley Viviano, of Warren, contributed with an assist, while freshman goalkeeper Sarah Ward, of Quincy, covered the net for 90 minutes and had 8 saves.
The win brings the Bruins’ overall record for the season so far to 1-0. Their next game starts at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, against conference opponent Jackson College at home on the soccer field on KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek. Admission is free.
