The Kellogg Community College women’s soccer team broke a three-game losing streak yesterday, besting non-conference opponent Indiana Tech’s JV squad 1-0 at home on the soccer field on KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek.
Scoring for the Bruins was sophomore midfielder Alex Guebara, of Decatur, who hit the net 35 minutes into the first half. Freshman goalkeeper Sarah Ward, of Quincy, kept the net for KCC all 90 minutes and had five saves.
The win brings the Bruins overall record to 2-3; their conference record is 0-2.
The team’s next game starts at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, against conference opponent Muskegon Community College in Muskegon. The women then have a week off from competition before taking on non-conference opponent Delta College at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at home in Battle Creek.
