The public is invited to an open house at the Regional Manufacturing Technology Center, a training facility operated by Kellogg Community College at 405 Hill Brady Road, Battle Creek, from 3 to 7 p.m. Oct. 15.
The RMTC, home to KCC’s Industrial Trades programs, recently launched an Industrial Technology Program and a Renewable Energy Program, which add to the lineup of industry-specific initiatives designed to train local students and workers for jobs in emerging fields.
The open house will include a ribbon-cutting at 3 p.m. by the Battle Creek Area Chamber of Commerce, demonstrations of the cutting-edge technology inside the RMTC, faculty-led presentations and information about company partnerships and course registration. Prospective students and companies interested in partnerships with KCC are encouraged to attend.
“With new grants and partnerships in 2013, we are rapidly expanding our offerings at the RMTC, and we are eager to forge new opportunities for area companies and people who want top-notch training for emerging careers,” said RMTC Director Laura McGuire.
The open house also will highlight KCC’s Workforce Solutions Department, the KCC Bruin Bots youth robotics competition team and Michigan Works!
