This week at KCC: Oct. 28-Nov. 3, 2013

Here are some reminders of upcoming events related to Kellogg Community College. Unless otherwise noted, all events take place on KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek.

Scheduled for Monday, Oct. 28, 2013:

  • Spring 2014 registration begins at 7 a.m. online and at 8 a.m. in person on campus. For more information about registration, visit www.kellogg.edu/registrar/register.html.
  • KCC’s Tech Club begins their annual Pumpkin Carving Fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center. The fundraiser will continue at the same times through Wednesday, Oct. 30.
  • The KCC student organization True Life will host a Gathering meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Kellogg Room.

Scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013:

  • Western Michigan University will host a Transfer Student Information Table from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the central walkway.
  • KCC’s Tech Club continues their annual Pumpkin Carving Fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center. The fundraiser will continue at the same time through Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013:

  • Miller College will host a Transfer Student Information Table from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the central walkway.
  • KCC’s Tech Club concludes their annual Pumpkin Carving Fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center.
  • KCC’s Kampus Activities Board will host their annual Scary Movie Night beginning at 7 p.m. in the Kellogg Room.

Scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013:

  • Happy Halloween!
  • The KCC chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society will hold a Lollipop Fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the north walkway.
  • The American Red Cross will hold its annual Blood Drive from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Kellogg Room.
  • KCC’s Art League will hold a General Meeting from 1 to 2 p.m. in room 219 of the Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Center.

Scheduled for Friday, Nov. 1, 2013:

  • The Financial Aid Office’s fall Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) appeal deadline is Friday, Nov. 1. Contact the Financial Aid Office for more information.
  • The nonrefundable $400 deposit for students and community members participating in KCC’s international travel trip to Europe next spring is due to KCC on Friday, Nov. 1. Click here for more information about the trip from a post on this blog.

  • The first session of the Fall Basketball Camp for youth led by KCC’s student-athletes and coaches runs from 1:45 to 4:30 p.m. at the Miller Gym. Click here for more information about the camp from a post on this blog.

  • KCC will host photographer Christopher Schneberger’s exhibit “Glimmer: The Haunting of the Graham House” through Friday, Nov. 8, in the college’s Eleanor R. and Robert A. DeVries Gallery in the Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Center. The exhibit will be free and open to the public for viewing during exhibit hours, which are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Coming soon:

  • Future college students will have the opportunity to talk with representatives from nearly 70 institutions and organizations during KCC’s annual Calhoun County College Night, scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4 at Kellogg Arena, 1 McCamly Square, Battle Creek. The event is free and open to the public.
  • The priority processing deadline for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students applying for financial aid to attend KCC for the Spring 2014 semester is Friday, Nov. 15. By submitting the FAFSA with correct and complete information by this date, students allow for adequate processing time in order to determine financial aid eligibility by the beginning of the spring semester.   • The priority processing deadline (all documents submitted) for students applying for financial aid to attend KCC for the Spring 2014 semester is Friday, Nov. 29. By submitting all requested documentation with correct and complete information by this date, students allow for adequate processing time in order to determine financial aid eligibility by the beginning of the spring semester.
