This week at KCC: Dec. 2-8, 2013

Here are some reminders of upcoming events related to Kellogg Community College. Unless otherwise noted, all events take place on KCC’s North Avenue campus in Battle Creek.

Scheduled for Monday, Dec. 2, 2013:

  • Western Michigan University’s College of Education and Human Development will host a Transfer Student Information Table from 9 a.m. to noon in the Central Walkway.
  • The student-led Healthy Choices Leadership Organization will hold a Seeds of Success fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Center.
  • A KCC Jazz Band concert will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Student Center.
  • KCC’s men’s basketball team will play Delta College beginning at 7 p.m. in University Center. For more information about the men’s basketball team, visit www.kellogg.edu/athletics/mensbball/index.html.

Scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013:

  • A Stress Busters event for students will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Center. Activities available for students include free massages.
  • The student-led Healthy Choices Leadership Organization will hold a Seeds of Success fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Central Walkway.

Scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013:

  • A Stress Busters event for students will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Center. Activities available for students include free massages.
  • A Student Recital Series event featuring performances by KCC students studying in the College’s Individualized Music Lesson Program will begin at 1 p.m. in the Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Center.
  • A KCC Jazz Band concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Center.

Scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013:

  • KCC will host a Medical Mobile Clinic through Community HealthCare Connections to offer free medical services to students and community members from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Roll Health and Administration Building.
  • Western Michigan University’s Haworth College of Business will host a Transfer Student Information Table from 10 a.m. to noon in the Central Walkway.
  • The student-led Healthy Choices Leadership Organization will host an Island Party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Center.
  • Siena Heights University will host a Transfer Student Information Table from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Central Walkway.
  • A Closing Reception for KCC’s ArtPrize exhibit “Didactic Revolvers” will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Eleanor R. and Robert A. DeVries Gallery in the Davidson Visual and Performing Arts Center, where the work is currently on display.

Scheduled for Friday, Dec. 6, 2013:

  • KCC’s women’s basketball team will begin play as part of the Lynn Conway Holiday Classic basketball tournament at Delta College in University Center. For more information about the women’s basketball team, visit www.kellogg.edu/athletics/womensbball/index.html.
  • KCC’s men’s basketball team will play the JV team from Marygrove College in the Bruins’ first home game of the season, beginning at 7 p.m. in the gym of the Miller Physical Education Building in Battle Creek. Scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013:

  • KCC’s women’s basketball team will conclude play as part of the Lynn Conway Holiday Classic basketball tournament at Delta College in University Center. For more information about the women’s basketball team, visit www.kellogg.edu/athletics/womensbball/index.html.

Scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013:

  • KCC’s Branch County Community Chorus will present their annual “Sounds of the Season” concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. in Coldwater.

Continuing:

  • KCC is an official Salvation Army Angel Tree Toy Drive donation site. Donation tags are located on the Christmas tree in the Student Center and will be available through Dec. 18 or while supplies last.

Coming soon:

  • The fall/spring loan request deadline for KCC students seeking financial aid to pay for college is Friday, Dec. 13, 2013. For more information, visit www.kellogg.edu/financial.
  • The deadline to register for KCC’s international travel trip to Germany and Switzerland has been extended to 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16. Click here for more information about the trip from a post on this blog.
  • Fall 2013 semester classes end Monday, Dec. 16.
  • Spring 2014 semester classes begin Friday, Jan. 17.
