KCC student-athletes receive MCCAA postseason honors

Two Kellogg Community College sophomore student-athletes have been recognized with postseason basketball honors by the Michigan Community College Athletic Association.

Sophomore forward Nathan Taylor, a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School, was named to the 2014 MCCAA Third Team All-Conference. Taylor, who last year was named MCCAA Western Conference Freshman of the Year in addition to making the Second Team All-Conference and Western Conference All-Freshman Team, scored 17.8 points, grabbed 10.1 rebounds and dished out 3.7 assists per game this season for the Bruins’ men’s basketball team.

Sophomore guard Teonna Pope, of Detroit, a graduate of Southeastern High School, was named to the 2014 MCCAA Third Team All-Conference. Pope, who last year was an MCCAA All-Conference Honorable Mention, scored 11.4 points, grabbed 3.9 rebounds and dished out 4.2 assists per game this season for the Bruins’ women’s basketball team.
