Members of Kellogg Community College’s Department of Public Safety will join regional law enforcement officials to interact with the public during Coffee with a Cop.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, May 20, in the Kellogg Room on the KCC campus at 450 North Ave., Battle Creek.
During the event, KCC officials will be joined by representatives from the Battle Creek Police Department, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Emmett Township Department of Public Safety and Michigan State Police to answer questions and provide information about their respective agencies.
The majority of the contact law enforcement officials have with the public happens during emergencies or emotional situations, which are not always the best times for relationship-building with members of the community. Coffee with a Cop breaks down these barriers and allows for relaxed, one-on-one interaction with members of the public.
For more information about the event, contact BCPD Lt. Jim Grafton at jcgrafton@battlecreekmi.gov.
