Four Kellogg Community College freshman softball players have been awarded postseason Michigan Community College Athletic Association Western Conference honors.
- Freshman catcher/designated player Elizabeth Albaugh (Shepherd/Sacred Heart Academy) was named to the All Region, All-MCCAA Team; the First Team All-Conference; and the All-Freshman Team. Albaugh hit .449 from the plate, including 10 home runs and 34 RBIs.
- Freshman shortstop Mary Emington (Cadillac/Cadillac High School) was named to the All-Freshman Team. Emington hit .413 from the plate, including a team-high 15 home runs and 39 RBIs, and stole 13 bases.
- Freshman pitcher Anorah Seita (Battle Creek/Galesburg-Augusta High School) was named to the Second Team All-Conference and the All-Freshman Team. Seita hit .403 from the plate, including four home runs and 25 RBIs.
- Freshman second basewoman Valerie Rubley (East Leroy/Athens High School) was an Honorable All-Conference mention. Rubley hit .363 from the plate, including 17 RBIs.
The Spring 2014 softball season was Bruins’ first under Head Coach Darrick Brown. The team finished the season fourth in the MCCAA Western Conference with a 9-7 conference record, qualifying for the National Junior College Athletic Association District G Tournament for just the second time in program history.
