Kellogg Community College is the first community college in Michigan to be designated a StormReady Community by the National Weather Service.

The designation was awarded in recognition of KCC’s readiness to keep people safe during extreme weather events and was formally presented to the College’s Board of Trustees by representatives from the NWS during the July 16 board meeting.

According to the NWS, “StormReady communities are better prepared to save lives from the onslaught of severe weather through advanced planning, education and awareness.”
