The Kellogg Community College women’s volleyball team fell in three sets to Mott Community College in Flint on Tuesday, dropping their first match of the 2014 season in non-conference play.
Scores for each set were as follows:
- Set 1: 18-25
- Set 2: 6-25
- Set 3: 13-25
For those unfamiliar with the sport, volleyball games are called matches. Each match consists of sets played to a score of 25; the team who wins the best of five sets wins the match.
On offense for the Bruins, freshman Grace Crawford (Marshall/Marshall High School) had eight kills, sophomore Tristen Ehredt (Battle Creek/Pennfield High School) had four kills and sophomore Victoria Rybinski (Brutus/Pellston High School) had 16 assists.
The team plays next this weekend in Toledo as part of the Owens Invitational. The team’s first home game — which offers free admission and free Bruins stickers for kids — will start at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, against conference opponent Lake Michigan College at the Miller Gym.
