Bruin Bookstore to celebrate National Student Day Oct. 9

Kellogg Community College’s Bruin Bookstore will celebrate National Student Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9.

Bookstore staff will hand out free cookies, National Student Day wristbands and information about service-learning opportunities at KCC. Those who stop by can enter a drawing for a chance to win a $25 gift card to Applebee’s!

Through Oct. 10, the bookstore also is accepting donations of pet items for the Calhoun County Animal Shelter and the area Humane Society. Items sought for donation include:

  • Cat food, treats, toys and litter
  • Dog treats, collars and leashes
  • Dog toys (rubber only; no cloth please)
  • Rawhide chews for dogs
  • Cleaning supplies including bleach, Mr. Clean, OdoBan, Windex and paper towels
  • Dog, puppy, cat and kitten shampoo
  • Monetary donations
