Kellogg Community College is celebrating its commitment to providing excellent financial aid guidance and processing by observing Financial Aid Appreciation Day on Oct. 15.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 15, KCC’s financial aid employees will give away cookies and information in or near the Student Center, 450 North Ave., Battle Creek. Current students, prospective students and members of the public are invited to join the celebration on the North Avenue campus.
“KCC’s financial aid employees are superheroes on the front line of college accessibility because they are often a student’s direct link to higher education,” said Nicole Jewell, financial aid director at KCC. “Students come to us in a variety of financial circumstances and our financial aid staff guides them through the forms and deadlines so they can focus less on their finances and more on their studies.”
Financial Aid Appreciation Day, first celebrated in 2010 in the United States and promoted by members of the U.S. House of Representatives, honors the role that financial aid professionals across the country play in helping students realize their dreams of attaining a college education.
KCC has established an effective financial aid program of scholarships, grants, campus employment and loans as the College affordably connects students with the higher education they seek.
